Stuttgart Sports Cars Ltd. (SSCL) has sponsored the Chan Ho Park Foundation's Future Baseball Players Scholarship, since it formed a partnership with the legendary pitcher Park Chan-ho in 2016, the largest authorized Porsche dealer in Korea said Tuesday.
On Oct. 28, it participated in the foundation's scholarship awards ceremony to support the nation's students who have a talent for baseball.
According to SSCL, the foundation has supported 458 baseball prodigies over the past 21 years.
Including Nexen Heroes' infielder Seo Geon-chang and Samsung Lions' outfielder Koo Ja-wook, 37 awardees have become professionals at 10 clubs in the KBO League.
SSCL said it decided to sponsor Park, because his support for baseball prodigies to fulfill their dreams is in line with its attempts to sell Porsche, the dream car.
"I would like to express my gratitude to SSCL for their continued dedication to support and encourage young players," Park said. "I will also give my best efforts in supporting baseball youngsters to grow and achieve their dreams."
In addition to its support for young baseball players, SSCL has provided long-term and practical support for the dreams of underprivileged people and young students through various social contribution activities.
