LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - APP - 26th Apr, 2019 ) :President of Pakistan Federation Baseball Syed Fakhar Ali Shah met Akbar Hussain Durrani, Federal Secretary for Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) in Islamabad on Friday and discussed with him matters pertaining to the development of baseball in the country.
The PFB president, along with Fakhar Amir Kazmi Legal Advisor, Tahir Mehmood Finance Secretary and Shams ul Islam Khan Lodhi Coordinator Islamabad AFP had a detailed meeting with Federal Secretary IPC and briefed him about the development efforts to promote baseball at all levels in the country with the help and cooperation of world and Asian baseball bodies, said a spokesman of PFB here.
He said Fakhar Shah informed the Federal Secretary that Pakistan will participate in four elite international baseball events this year which include West Asia Baseball Cup (Sri Lanka), U15 Asian Baseball Championship (China), Women Asian Baseball Championship (China) and Asian Baseball Championship (Chinese Taipei).
"Pakistan Federation Baseball has prepared a solid training programme by organizing training teams to prepare the respective national teams for their participation in these tournaments ", said PFB Chief.
Syed Fakhar Ali Shah also presented Baseball Times (Magazine) to the Federal Secretary.
"Akbar Hussain Durrani appreciated the efforts of PFB for the cause of baseball in the country and assured for his full support for organizing training camps of Pakistan teams in Islamabad," he said.
The spokesman said an exhibition match will be played between Pakistan U15 Green and Pakistan U15 Red will be played tomorrow, Saturday at Baseball Ground in Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad and Federal Secretary IPC Akbar Hussain Durrani will be the chief guest on the occasion.
He said the outstanding players of the match will be selected for the National Training Camp of Pakistan U15 Baseball Team for the participation in BFA U15 Asian Baseball Championship being held from August 19-25 in China.
Teams from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, India, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan will participate in the event. Top 2 teams of the event will qualify to appear in U15 Baseball World Cup 2020.
