After its unexpected shutout in the coming Kuala Lumpur Southeast Asian Games, the Philippine baseball team has shifted its focus to the world.
The Philippine Amateur Baseball Association secretary general Chito Loyzaga said a goodwill series with the Hong Kong National team starting Monday at Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium would help determine the composition of the Philippine squad.
The Filipinos will also compete in the 28th BFA Asian Baseball Championships in Taipei this September, the qualifier to the U23 Baseball World Cup in 2018.“Our goal is to get into the world championship,” said Loyzaga.
