Bangladesh crowns women’s baseball national champions

Bangladesh Ansar defeated the Bangladesh Police, 17-10, in the national championship final in the country’s top women’s baseball event.

Bangladesh Ansar has won their fourth consecutive national title in the Walton National Women's Baseball Championship organized by Bangladesh Baseball-Softball Association. The champions defeated the Bangladesh Police, 17-10, in the championship game held at Paltan Maidan Ground in Dhaka, the country’s capital. A total of eight teams participated in the three-day competition, which marked Bangladesh's first official baseball competition of 2020. 

In the fourth edition of the Bangladesh Walton National Women's Baseball Championship, Bangladesh Ansar continued building its dynasty winning their fourth title in a row. The team also took the South Asia nation’s title in 2016 and 2017, and shared the championship with Bangladesh Police in 2019. 

In the semi-finals, Ansar beat Saver Community Club, 29-4, while the Police defeated Sand Angel Baseball Club,15-4.

The Bangladesh Baseball-Softball Association plans to host in the next months the Men's Baseball National Championship, the Junior Baseball National Championship and the Women's Softball National Championship.
