NAGASE Jiro, honorary chairman of Nagase Kenko Corporation died of old age at 88 on April 9, 2020.

Nagase Kenko Corporation, established in 1934, a prominent manufacturer and distributor of rubber baseball, softball, soft tennis ball and related sporting products, is the pioneer and world-leading manufacturer of rubber baseball.  NAGASE Jiro made the company grow in his 36 years of reign as its president and contributed to the development of baseball and softball not only in Japan but in many parts of the world.  He had been the strong supporter of World Children’s Baseball Fair (WCBF) headed by OH Sadaharu, former Tokyo Yomiuri Giants great who slugged 868 carrier home runs.  His likable personality put him on numerous chairmanship and advisors, not directly related to sports or rubber goods, such as Regional Traffic Safety Association and Regional Taxation Consultation Association for Medium-Sized Companies.
