Bhubaneswar: Three players from Odisha have been selected to Indian Women’s Baseball team for Women’s Baseball Asian Cup 2017 scheduled from September 2-7 in Hong Kong.
Binu Sahoo, Rupashree Lenka and Gita Bhuyan have been added to the 20-member National Women’s Baseball team to represent India for the upcoming Asian baseball event, hosted by Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA), a continental arm of World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), together with Hong Kong Baseball Association.
Besides, Subash Swain from Odisha will fly with the team as one of the coaches for the event.
The Women’s National Baseball Teams of six countries — Japan, China, Korea, Hong Kong, India and Pakistan — will compete in Women’s Baseball Asian Cup 2017.
Indian Team: Binu Sahoo, Rupashree Lenka, Gita Bhuyan, Mona Kusumar, Sonia Chouhan, Seetal Thakur, Harshita Reddy, Rajrani, Raman Deep, Manisha Choudhury, Chentana Sharma, Bhavna, Sweta Das, Sabita Jujar, Puja, US Bhabya, Girija Bodekar, Reshma Punikar, Sisi Priya, Payal Dandekar.
Coach: Dilip Nayak, Jitendra Sindhe, Subash Swain, Bijay Partodar, Mitali.
