In recognition of winning Gold Medal at BFA 13th West Asia Baseball Cup, President Maithreepala Sirisena received Sri Lanka National Team at President Secretariat in Colombo on April 4, 2017.
Hon Minister of Sports Dayasiri Jayasekera, President Fazil Hussain of Sri Lanka Baseball Softball Association (SLABSA) and other SLABSA officials including Vice President Hon Mayantha Dissanayake, Vice President Major General Upul Vithanage and Secretary Rajith Ratnayake were also present.
13th West Asia Baseball Cup was held for 5 days from February 25, 2017 in Islamabad, Pakistan by 5 countries 1. Sri Lanka (3-0), 2. Pakistan (2-1), 3 Iran (1-2), 4. Nepal (1-3) and 5. Iraq (0-2).
