CHANDIGARH: Hosts Panjab University men and women got off to flying start on the third day of the All-India Inter- University Baseball (Men and Women) Championship here today.
Panjab University men's team outplayed MGS University of Bikaner by 8-0 while in the women's category, Panjab University proved too good for Ch. Charan Singh University Meerut whom they routed by 10-0.
MGS University of Bikaner men's team defeated Ch. Charan Singh University Meerut by 10-0 and HNB Gharhwal 7-5. Maharishi Dayanand University of Rohtak maintained their winning spree as they today got the better of Calicut University in a low-scoring match by 3-1 and later accounted for LPU of Phagwara by11-5.
Calicut University and Punjabi University, Patiala fought a tooth-and-nail battle before the former emerged winners by 8-7 margin.
Delhi University women prevailed over MDU Rohtak by 3-2 while in a high scoring match MGS University Bikaner defeated HNB Garhwal by 13-10.
