Groups Announced for 6th World University Baseball Championship in Gwangju, Korea

8 Teams to compete from July 6 to 11, 2015

The groups for the World University Baseball Championship, which will be staged as a part of the 2015 Summer Universiade in Gwangju, Korea, were decided in a drawing by the delegation leaders on April 13.  Game schedule will be announced in the near future.

  Pool A:  Korea, Japan, China and France
  Pool B:  U.S.A., Chinese Taipei, Czech Republic and Mexico

 Competition Format:
- Tournament consists of a round-robin preliminary round by all participating countries
- Preliminary round, quarterfinals (5th and 7th place playoffs), semifinals (3rd place playoff), final
- In preliminary round, home dugouts on the third base side
- In quarterfinals, higher-ranking team from preliminary round is the home team with dugout on the third base side

 Field of play
- Mudeung Baseball Stadium and Gwangju-KIA Champions Field
(Training - Gwangju Jeil High School Baseball Stadium)
- A stadium with floodlight and natural grass to fit the international standards
- Electronic display(scoreboard/timer) to be installed on the table of technical committee table
- Infield : distance between each bases to be 27.341M (90ft)
- Sides of bases that connects to other bases must be paralled
- The pitcher’s plate: a rubber plate placed 18.4M from the home-base (60ft 6inch), height around 38cm (15inch), width 61cm (2.54inch), length 15cm (6inch)
- Outfield : home-base to be about 76.2M (250ft) away from the outfield stand.
