Japanese High School All-Star Wins Last Game in Cuba

5-Game Series Concluded with 3 Wins Cuba, 1 Win Japan and a Draw

The first-ever tour of Japanese High School Baseball Team to Cuba from December 17, 2018 concluded successfully on December 21 with succession of competitive matches.

Tokyo Metropolitan High School Baseball Federation (THBF) sent its All-Star Team led by Katsuji TAKEI, President of THBF, in commemoration of the 120th anniversary of Japanese immigration to Cuba, and played 5 friendship games in Havana and Mayabeque against Under-17 Cuban National Team from December 17.

Manager Mitsuo MAEDA of Teikyo High School summed up the 5-game friendship series by saying that the Japanese players learned “never-say-die” attitude from Cuban players as well as promoting international perspectives. Maeda was accompanied by veteran Masayoshi OGURA as Head Coach, Minoru Izumi, coach, Katsuhito ICHIHARA coach and Yutaka SHIBATA, advisor/interpreter.

Day 5:  Cuba 6 vs 7 Japan

Day 4  Cuba 8 vs 8 Japan

Day 3  Cuba 7 vs 2 Japan

Day 2  Cuba 5 vs 4 Japan
