Women's Exhibition Baseball Match between Pakistan Green and Pakistan Blue at Governor House Lahore. Chief Guest Mrs. Begum Perveen Sarwar Assures her Full Support for Women Baseball in Pakistan

Pakistan Federation Baseball is doing a lot of work for developing women baseball in the country. In this regard, an Exhibition Baseball Match of women's baseball was played between Pakistan Green and Pakistan Blue at Governor House Lahore. Pakistan Green defeated Pakistan Blue 10-7.

 

Honorable Mrs. Parveen Sarwar, wife of the Governor of Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, who is also the Vice Chair of the Sarwar Foundation was the Chief Guest. Syed Fakhr Ali Shah President Pakistan Federation Baseball received the Chief Guest and other honorable guests. Along with him were Executive Members of the Federation Shah Manzar Farid, Executive Director Haseeb Muhammed, Chairperson Women Wing Sadia Alvi, Coach Pakistan Women Baseball Team Tariq Nadeem, Director Youth Baseball Development Dr. Shaheen Gulraiz and Legal Advisor Fakhar Amir Kazmi. After the national anthem, both teams were introduced to the Chief Guest. 

 

Pakistan Green beat Pakistan Blue by 10 runs in the match. From Pakistan Green, Najma Bibi, Anila, Aqsa and Manahal scored 2 runs each while Maham and Ghazala scored one run each. For Pakistan Blue Raheela and Bakhtawar scored two runs each while Rabia, Tuba and Waheeda scored one run each. Aqsa from Pakistan Green and Bakhtawar for  Pakistan Blue hit Grand Slam which led to their team's four-run increase.

 

Speaking at the end of the match, Chief Guest Mrs. Perveen Sarwar Sahiba praised the game of both teams. She said that it is hoped that the Pakistani women players will showcase their successes in their international competitions in baseball as well as achievements for their homeland. She also praised the President of the Federation Syed Fakhar Ali Shah for his efforts for women's baseball. She said that she would do everything possible in the future for women's baseball and would also try for a baseball ground in Punjab.

 

Speaking on the occasion, President of Pakistan Federation Baseball Syed Fakhar Ali Shah said that the Pakistan Women's Baseball Team is going to China to attend the second Asian Women's Baseball Championship starting in China from November 9. Teams from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Philippines, India and Pakistan are participating in the tournament. The tournament's winner and runner-up team will qualify for the Women's Baseball World Cup next year.

 

At the end of the match, Pakistan Federation Baseball President Syed Fakhr Ali Shah and Federation Executive Member Shah Manzar Farid also presented the souvenir on behalf of the Federation to the Chief Guest, Mrs. Begum Perveen Sarwar.
