SRINAGAR:
Shahnawaz Hussain Mir of district Budgam has been selected in India team for the upcoming International Baseball Championship, 2017 scheduled to be held from 10th October to 15th October, 2017 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The championship is being organised by the Malaysia Baseball Federation (MBF) under the auspices of Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA).
General Secretary of J&K Baseball Association Fida Hussain Fidvi has been appointed as manager of Indian squad. The final camp is scheduled to be held at Khalsa PG college ground at Shri Ganga Nagar, Rajasthan from 28th September, 2017 which is being organised by the Amateur Baseball Federation of India. Shahnawaz Mir represented the state number of times in senior national Championships at different states in India.
Meanwhile the Secretary, J&K State Sports Council Waheed Ur Rahman Para appreciated the association for great efforts of promoting the game in the state of J&K. Shahnawaz and Fidvi left for India camp on Sunday.
