Baseball Events in Japan Avoid Clash with 2020 Olympics

Because of 2020 Olympics which take place in Japan for 17 days from July 24 to August 9, the schedules of annual baseball events will be affected such as the following:

 

  • 92nd High School Invitational Tournament at Koshien Stadium will be held for 13 days from March 19.
  • 102nd High School Championship at Koshien for 16 days from August 10.
  • 75th National Sports Festival (High School Baseball) in Kagoshima for 4 days from October 4.
  • 51st Meiji Shrine Championship at Meiji Jingu Stadium for 6 days from November 20

 

 

  • 69th University Championship at Meiji Jingu Stadium and Tokyo Dome for 7 days from June 8.
  • 51st Meiji Shrine Championship at Meiji Jingu Stadium for 6 days from November 20.

 

 

  • 45th JABA Club Championship at Met Life Dome in Osaka for 4 days from May 25.
  • 46th Japanese Championship at Kyocera Dome in Osaka and Hottmotto Field in Kobe from July 2 to 15.
  • 91st Inter-City Championship at Tokyo Dome for 12 days from November 22.

 

 

  • Nippon Professional Baseball opens on March 20 and interrupt schedule from July 21 to August 13.  NPB All-stars will represent Japan at the 2020 Olympics.
