On July 20, the West Asia Base Ball Cup 2019 the Finals was inaugurated by Ambassador Sugiyama's first pitch. The nail-biting game between Sri Lanka and Pakistan was narrowly won by Sri Lanka, the defending champion, with a score of 5 to 4. This great feat brings us to express our heartfelt congratulations to the team and Mr. Kazuto Nonaka, a manager of the national team of Sri Lanka.
Packed spectators fully savored the great drama of baseball, all eyes pinned to a white ball, played Ingeniously against the backdrop of beautiful green field of Sri Lanka- Japan Friendship Baseball Ground. Both Sri Lanka and Pakistan are now qualified to advance to the next round of the tournament-Asian Baseball Championship- which will decide the final qualifiers to play in the Tokyo Olympic Paralympic Games to be held in 2020.
Final Rankings:
Gold: Suri Lanka, Silver: Pakistan, Bronze: India, 4th Iran, 5th Bangladesh, and 6th Nepal.
