The baseball event of 2018 Asian Games is going to be staged from August 21 to September 2 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The 2017 final rankings revealed by WBSC is subject to shape up the competition format. The 10 NOCs registering for the Baseball competition in the Asian Games rankings are as follows:

The competition format will be set in 2 rounds. Top 6 best-ranked NOCs and the host Indonesia are the seed teams automatically qualified to participate in the final round, and the rest 3 teams to compete in round 1 for the last spot to go to the 8-team final round. The 3-team round 1 will be played in a single round robin elimination format, which will take 5 days before the final round.
Dates of the Round 1 (3-team Single Round Robin) – August 21 ~ August 23.
Dates of the Final Round (8-team Final Competition) – August 26 ~ September 1.
