Dear BFA Family,

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to grow and affect all around the world, new cases continue to soar in numbers and international travel restrictions are still in place. BFA has no choice but to take the hard and painful decision to cancel the XI BFA U12 Baseball Championship originally to be hosted in Tainan, Taiwan in March. This decision was not taken lightly, but considering the safety of players, coaches and all participants of the event. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by this unfortunate circumstance and your comprehension is much appreciated.

As the XI BFA U12 Baseball Championship event was a continental qualifier event for the 2021 WBSC U12 Baseball World Cup to be held in August. According to WBSC’s regulations, any continental qualifying event that was unable to take place due to a pandemic or any other reason, it is up to the Continental Confederation to decide on a system or guideline on which teams on its assigned continental quota qualify to the WBSC World Cup event.

BFA has decided to implement the final standings of the last edition of the BFA U12 event, in this case being the final standing of the [2018 X BFA U12 Championship], according to the WBSC quota distribution, there are a total of 3 teams assigned for Asia, so, the following 3 teams are qualified to the U12 Baseball World Cup according to the standings of the last BFA U12 event:

Champion: Chinese Taipei

Runner-up: Korea

Third Place: Japan

*note: If any team withdraws their participation, the substitute should follow the next ranking of the last tournament.
